Curiosity and its power, which’s able to bring people from one starting point to another point, is an interesting concept to be ponder upon. What is curiosity and how it plays its role in our new understanding and from what point does it occur or evoke.
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.
Albert Einstein
Curiosity and Its Meaning
Derived from the Latin word, curiositas, which literally means a strong desire to know and learn something. From that point, we can see that curiosity leads to some new information that can form knowledge.
This had made me realized how my curiosity about curiosity itself brought me to write this article. So to some extent, it seems to me that it is connected with stimuli or perhaps it is a response to a stimulus.
If a stimulus is a starting point, then my mind evokes a question about its end point. Then, if curiosity can maintain the progress from the starting to its end point, perhaps it is also a motivation. A drive for some people to seek answer and to find an explanation.
Curiosity and its effects
According to Steven Reiss, human has 16 basic desires. Each of those desires will lead us to different end goals. Curiosity is one of those desires which has the end goal of knowledge and truth. No wonder it will bring a new information.

On Self-knowledge
One thing that I find important to have when we do an inner work is having a curiosity. It may ignite a spark to keep going and lead us to a better understanding.
For those who are doing their inner work, may agree with me, itโs not an easy journey. Ebbs and flows will join us often in that journey. Sometimes, or often, leave a sense of despair, tiresome and perhaps an illusion of cul-de-sac.
Then you may realize that having a curious mind, or at least trying to see this as a mystery to solve, may help us keep going. The most interesting about it is its unconscious premise. When we know what makes our curiosity interesting as human being, perhaps it would be easier for us to keep the spark alive. If it leads us to knowledge and truth, according to Reiss, then we may look closely at what knowledge and truth are.
Knowledge and truth have one main common in how they are gained. When human wants to find a new knowledge and truth behinds it or his/her personal truth, one should construct a hypothesis as a reason to investigate it. This process is like hunting. Knowing what we are looking for doesn’t come with a guarantee that we’ll find it.
Perhaps we are all born as a hunter. Hunting something, either it’s our goals, purpose, achievements, and aims, is something that keeps us moving, as a hunter who’s ready to hunt and know what, where and how he will hunt. By this, the way to keep our curiosity sparks is by investigating ourselves in a playful manner, just like a hunter does. Just like Artemis and Orion did.

Thanks. Loads of write ups!
